I thought this was a video game until I clicked the play Battle Angel shirt. I wish they had not gone with the huge anime eyes because it is a completely uncanny valley. Which is just throwing me off. Uneven pacing and quality between issues, but at it’s best it transcended the genre cliches to create honest characters grappling with heart-rending loss, inequity, the power of hope, and the necessity for the righteous to be strong as well as good in order to fight evil. And it had awesome fight scenes. Lots and lots of fight scenes. So many fight scenes.
